The AE051 device for Subaru Forester vehicles installs overhead into the back of the stereo camera. This video is based on the AE038 installation, but the process is effectively identical for the AE051.

Pay careful attention to exactly where the device is installed. Customers frequently try to install into the overhead console connectors instead of the stereo camera connector. As you might imagine, this doesn't work.

2025 Subaru Forester Install

Pretty straight forward without Forester instructions. The 2025 Forester has two phillips head screws that attach the overhead console, rather than the (2) 8 mm bolts as shown in the suggested 2023-2025 Outback installation video. Also, the connector is in the upper right of the console and there is a lot more room in the Forester to bury the wires and modified connector. With that said, the whole process took about 7 minutes and worked perfectly. Overall, a great product and a great value. This is the second module I have purchased. The first was for my 2023 Crosstrek.

Get this if you hate your auto start-stop

This makes your forester a pleasure to drive. The auto start stop really sucks and feels so rough. This makes it easy to turn it off and the install was a breeze. You can’t go wrong with this.

Auto Start Stop Eliminator definitely works as advertised . Eliminates rough engine restarts at odd times, stoplights and at stop signs . Also reduces extra Wear & Tear on many vehicle components. This is my second purchase of this brand . First one was for a 2020 Subaru forester Touring. Eliminator worked Flawlessly until I sold it.
